India established a State-of-the-Art DNA Analysis Centre at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Chandigarh to improve forensic investigation in sexual assault cases. The facility, funded under the Nirbhaya Fund, includes four modern DNA profiling units and can handle 2,000 cases annually.
